Welcome to yoga! Starting with a beginners-friendly yoga class will help you to build a proper foundation in yoga - exploring poses, breathing practices and meditations all suited to someone who is just starting out.
These classes are slower in pace and work on the basics, avoiding some of the trickier transitions and poses.
I don’t currently have a beginner’s class on my schedule. If you would like to join my open level classes you are very welcome - I always offer a variety of pose options and modifications to suit all levels.
Yin, meditation, restorative and yoga nidra classes are also suited to complete beginners if you’d like something more soothing.

I would always recommend bringing your own yoga mat if you have one. If you don’t own a mat, I usually carry a small number with me. Please let me know prior to class if you would like to borrow one.
For classes taken with me at a yoga studio, there should be plenty of mats available to rent or borrow.

Some people wear baggy, loose fitting bottoms or shorts and a tshirt. Other people wear tight, stretchy leggings and tops. The only thing that matters is that you wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and stretch in. Avoid jeans, or anything that restricts movement.
For relaxation classes (yin, meditation, restorative, yoga nidra), you may want to bring a sweatshirt or jumper and some cosy socks to keep you warm.
-
Aside from a yoga mat, you may like to bring some water. Some people also like to bring their own yoga props, such as bricks, blankets and bolsters, but this isn’t expected and I always bring a bag of props with me.
Some classes may ask you to bring a blanket, cushion or notepad/pen with you, but his will be made clear on the booking instructions.

Yes! In fact you are the perfect candidate to practice yoga. Come exactly as you are - I will offer a variety of pose options to suit different bodies and will support you on your journey to become more flexible.
We also work to build strength, balance, stability and co-ordination. If you’re concerned about your flexibility or fitness start with a beginner’s friendly class.
Some classes may be better suited to you than others, so if you’re at all unsure get in touch.

It depends. If you have seen a medical professional and have been given the all-clear to practice yoga then you are welcome to join my class.
Please remember that I am not a medical professional and I cannot diagnose or give you any advice on specific injuries. My role is to support you in your rehabilitation and help you build strength, ease and mobility in your body.
If you are in pain or recovering from an injury, always seek professional advice before practicing yoga.

I am qualified to teach pregnancy and postpartum yoga, and love supporting women on this journey. If you are pregnant, please make me aware as soon as possible so I can give you tailored advice.
I always advise resting in your first trimester and joining a yoga class once you’ve had your 12-week scan and have been cleared to practice yoga.
